Disagreements have erupted between concerned citizens and District Councils on the results of the walk in interviews of health workers which the Ministry of Health conducted in June this year.
Some concerned citizens from some districts among them Ntcheu, Salima, Chitipa, Chiradzulu and Mulanje have petitioned their councils demanding an explanation on how the recruitment exercise was conducted and a demanding for immediate withholding of the results.
In response, Chitipa District Council has suspended the recruitment process in order to resolve all issues surrounding the exercise.
But Chiradzulu District Council said the Ministry of Health and Local Government Commission was the one fully responsible for the exercise.
Ministry of Health spokesperson, Joshua Malango referred YFM online to the Ministry of Local Government.
“The Ministry of Health only got the results which were marked at council level and the ministry only issued offer letters,” he said.
Efforts to speak to Ministry of Local Government spokesperson Muhlabase Mughogho yielded no results as she could not pick up calls.
