Up-and-coming afro-pop artist Leslie is gearing up for the release of her maiden album branded Nthambi (Branches) which promises fireworks judged by its star-studded lineup of featured artists.
Nthambi, will bring on spotlight familiar faces in urban music circles, talk of Piksy, Provoice, Hyphen, Phyzix, Saint, Malceba and Stich Fray.
The upcoming album dwells on the theme of love. The Blantyre-based artist, born Leslie Akwiza Moyo, said she has a lot to share with music audiences as regards the theme of love and compiling an album proved vital in ensuring that all her love messages reach home.
“My album centers on love and tackles the subject in different directions – be it happiness, sadness, or pain,” Leslie said.
Nthambi has been produced by different producers such as Henwood, J Mass, Stich fray, Sispence, Leumas and Jay Emm. The artist anticipates a solid project in the end. She says an array of music producers will give the album diversity in terms of rhythm and taste.
She said: “I want this album to be a game changer in as far as my status as an artist is concerned. Therefore, I decided to sort the expertise of different music producers considering the fact that they all have different strengths.”
Currently, Leslie is still riding on the wave of popularity brought forth by his hit single titled Romeo Na Juliet.
The artist, managed by Van Ngongo entertainment, came on the music scene in 2016. Leslie has so far managed to produce seven songs, and has collaborated with a congress of local musicians as one way to expanding her catchment area as an artist.
