Former Information Minister Henry Mussa has been released on bail by the Lilongwe Magistrate Court.
He was arrested along with former Director of Information Gideon Munthali on charges of theft by public servants and abuse of office.
The duo are being accused of stealing ten computers and three generators which were donated by Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) meant for information offices across the country.
Principal Resident Magistrate Viva Nyimba said on Monday considering that the State has concluded investigations on the matter, it would not be in the interest of justice to still keep the accused on remand.
Each of the accused has been bonded at a sum of K500, 000.
Other bail conditions include; presenting to court two traceable surities each to pay K250, 000, to surrender their travel documents and report to Central Region Police once in every fortnight.
The court has adjourned to October 20, 2020 for plea taking.
