Minister of Local Government Lingson Belekanyama says the Tonse led administration will continue with all the projects left by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government.
Belekanyama said this at the ongoing parliamentary proceedings in Lilongwe after being asked by the lawmakers on the progress of the projects.
“What we are going to do is that we are going to finish all those projects which were there so that after that we continue with others,” he said.
“I know that sometimes it happens that we cannot finish all but as you that government is a continuance process, we cannot say that the projects which were not finished by the other [DPP] government to be abandoned we cannot do it.”
Belekanyama said before embarking on new projects, his ministry will continue all the previous projects.
“What we are going to do as a Ministry is that we are going to finish those projects and start new ones because if we abandon those projects then we are not going to develop the country,” he said.
During the presentation of the 2020/21 national budget estimates, Minister of Finance Felix Mlusu told the august House that the allocation to the Constituency Development Fund has been increased from K30 million to K40 million.
