Police in Lilongwe have arrested three people in relation to the leakage of the examination papers for this year’s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) currently underway.
Earlier on Tuesday people were sharing the English and Biology papers while examinations were in progress.
MANEB Spokesperson Mayamiko Chiwaya confirmed the development but was quick to assure the public that this will not compromise the examinations.
Speaking to YFM- Spokesperson for Lilongwe Police- Joseph Kachikho said the two are teachers from Charismatic Secondary School at area 24 and a businessman.
“The three are currently under investigations and they soon appear the court to answer two charges,” he explained.
However education expert Dr Steve Shara has described the development as unfortunate saying it might demoralize other students in the country.
Dr Shara went on to suggest the need for MANEB to readminister examination if the problem turns out be huge.
Meanwhile, the ministry of education has appealed to the public to exercise patience as the ministry and boards are liaising and mapping way forward on the issue.
