The Malawi Scorchers continued with their good start at the COSAFA Women’s Championship 2020 following a one nil victory over Zambia on Monday.
Temwa Chawinga netted the solitary goal after 30 minutes in the first half.
Speaking after the game, Temwa who was also the player of the match, expressed excitement over the win saying the development is a good fruit of their hard work and teamwork during the game.
Head coach for Scorchers McNebert Kazuwa has since pledged to make it into semi-finals.
With the victory, Malawi Scorchers will play in the semifinals for the first time since 2011.
Last year, Zambia contributed to Scorchers’ elimination in the competition.
Malawi women’s team won 9-0 in its first match against Lesotho on November 7.
