After a long wait, the much anticipated HD Plus Creations film dubbed Fatsani will be premiered in the country for the first time next year.
The Chichewa film subtitled to English, which was written by Gilbert Mphatso Moyo and directed by Gift Sukez Sukali, discusses issues to do with child labour and girl child empowerment, among other areas of national interest.
Addressing journalists in Lilongwe on the progress of the film, Sukez said the movie was delayed due to a number of factors that affected the country like the elections and COVID-19 pandemic.
“This year so many has happened, especially COVID-19 which has hindered a lot of progress in terms of production as well as limitation in gatherings.”
“We are looking at the international guests to be able to come to this event so we thought it wise that probably if we put it next year 2021 April we will be able to carter all this plan which we have,” said Sukez.
HD Plus Creations started shooting the movie in Malawi in October 2019 and it is set to be premiered on April 30, 2021 at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) Auditorium.
Sukez added that the long wait has now ended as they as they are currently doing final touches of the movie.
Production of the movie costed over K40 million and the figure is expected to increase.
