Government has hinted on its plans to conduct quarterly reviews to assess the performance of public sector reforms in the country.
The vice president who is also the minister of economic planning and public sector reforms Dr Saulos Chilima said this during the signing ceremony of public sector reforms performance contract in Lilongwe.
Chilima said among others the move intends to ensure financial sustainability in various institutions.
“The reforms seek to achieve eight goals which include enhancing financial sustainability of the institutions,” Chilima said.
Concurring with this, President, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera challenged the ministers to perform saying resistance to do so is depriving citizenry access to quality services.
He also went to say that in most cases elections produce a change of government and not governance, saying people in civil service as usual.
