President Lazarus Chakwera will conclude the performance review for the cabinet ministers by December, a State House official said on Monday.
During the swearing in of cabinet ministers on July 10, 2020, President Chakwera announced that the performance of cabinet ministers would be reviewed after five months.
He said those that will underperform will be fired.
Presidential Press Secretary Brian Banda told journalists at State House weekly address at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre that all modalities for the performance review have already been outlined.
“The whole review process will be concluded by the end of this month and the decision to either dismiss non performing cabinet ministers and renewal of contracts to performing cabinet ministers will be made by president Chakwera,” he said.
Banda however did not clearly indicate the day in which the Ministers will present their performance reports to the office of the President.
