The Supreme Court of Appeal sitting in Lilongwe on Wednesday failed to commence hearing of an appeal case involving former justice minister Ralph Kasambara after some documents were reported missing.
Kasambara, Pika Manondo and Macdonald kumwembe are appealing a High Court ruling of 2017 that convicted the three with cases to answer on charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
When the court convened for hearing it noted that the bench through the Supreme Court registry is yet to be served with skeleton argument files despite the appellants filling a notice of appeal in 2018.
The state also failed to bring Manondo and Kumwembe to court saying the prison service has no fuel an issue which the state was admonished on.
One of the defence lawyers Michael Goba Chipeta told YFM that they will go back and file the missing documents.
