TAMA Farmers Trust says it is geared to continue the fight against child labour in the tobacco industry.
Speaking to YONECO FM online the Chief Executive Officer for the company Nixon Lita said that currently child labour cases have dropped in tobacco growing districts.
He attributed the decrease to awareness campaigns that are ongoing saying they involve traditional leaders who share messages on dangers of child labour with their subjects.
“We have observed that there has been a significant decrease in child labour cases and we are committed to see that no child is employed in the tobacco fields children should be in school and not working in farms,” Lita said.
