The Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) says it expected more from Dr Lazarus Chakwera’s Address on the Covid-19 situation in the country.
A senior official of the DPP Brown Mpinganjira said Chakwera’s address lacked direction as regards to how his government intends to mitigate the crisis and how the nation will move from here.
“Given the events of the past days when we have seen Covid-19 create panic in this country we expected to hear an announcement of some measures that have been decided upon and enforcement of such measures.”
According to Mpinganjira a declaration of state of national disaster alone is not enough.
“We need concrete steps that will help to deal with this crisis,” he said.
