A social commentator Lucky Mbewe has called on the public to ensure that they religiously follow the Covid-19 guidelines to ensure that lives are protected.
The call follows an address from President Lazarus Chakwera on January 17, 2021 in which he gave some guidelines to prevent the further spread of Covid-19 as cases are rising alarmingly.
Mbewe said the president’s directive is an important intervention and people should take serious action by protecting themselves and others by adhering to the measures.
“We should commend the president for strongly and boldly coming out with measures on how the government is committed to contain the pandemic,” said Mbewe.
He has since reminded the public that it is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that they are safe from Covid-19.
Mbewe said: “I would like to call on all Malawians to understand the importance of keeping and adhering to the set protocols and procedures put in place to prevent the pandemic.”
