The Business Committee of Parliament is yet to make a decision on Mzimba North lawmaker Yeremiah Chihana who was sent out of the Chamber by the First Deputy Speaker Madalitso Kazombo on Thursday when Vice President Saulos Chilima was in attendance.
According to Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda, despite that the First Deputy Speaker ordered Chihana to come on Monday next week, his reappearance in the House will be based on the resolution by the Business Committee.
“It depends on what the Business Committee is going to decide, definitely there are procedures, first it was announced as Monday.
“But we don’t know whether the Business Committee will be upholding the decision or increasing the numbers but that will depend on what the Business Committee decides,” said the Leader of the House.
Chimwendo Banda has however expressed satisfaction with how the legislators handled national business in the House for the week just ended.
“It has been a great week, the members have been participating on large numbers even on Zoom and the debate has been well done.
“We also note that the 5-minute allocation was a bit of a limitation but because of our timing we couldn’t do otherwise, nut members have been able to express themselves,” Chimwendo Banda said cheerfully.
