The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has yet again changed the date of the arrival of ballot papers for the March 30 by-elections.
MEC had announced that the ballot papers were to arrive in the country on March 21, following a change from the initial date of March 26, 2021.
However, the Commission has communicated that there has been another change due to a flight cancellation by the airliner that is carrying the ballot papers.
The Commission said it is engaging the printer and the airliner to fix new date for bringing the ballot papers into the country.
The by-elections are expected to take place in seven constituencies and two wards.
MEC has since assured all registered voters, candidates and political parties, that logistics for polling will not be affected.
