National Planning Commission (NPC) says printing of the Malawi 2063 vision document in braille is at an advanced stage and the commission is expected to start distributing the version soon.
NPC Communications Manager, Thom Khanje, said the commission is working hand in hand with the Malawi Union for the Blind.
Khanje said: “We are already in the process with support from our partners and we have also partnered with the Malawi Union for the Blind so that we can easily reach the intended beneficiaries once the distribution exercise commences.”
Meanwhile the document has been produced and distributed in English and Chichewa versions.
On the already produced versions Nkhanje said meanwhile the commission has managed to distribute them to key public institutions in all the districts in the country except Likoma due to logistic challenges.
However, he said they are looking into those logistical challenges and they are expecting to reach the Island before the end of April.
The document is being distributed in all the key public institutions including the offices of District Commissioners (DCs), District Education Managers (DEMs), NICE Public Trust, and the Parliament.
Mw 2063 vision was launched by the state president Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on January 9, 2021.
The vision aims to transform Malawi into a wealthy and self-reliant nation and it replaced the vision 2020 which expired in December, 2020.
