Minister of Civic Education and National Unity Timothy Mtambo has reminded people in the country to continue adhering to Coronavirus preventive measures especially this Easter holiday.
Mtambo, who was speaking during the daily Covid-19 update, said all the set Covid-19 restrictions are still in force.
According to the Civic Education Minister, the fight against the pandemic needs concerted efforts and that there is no need for relaxation of the measures.
“I have seen various posters about young people scheduled to hold parties, this is not the time comrades, as government we haven’t relaxed the restrictions,” said Mtambo.
On his part, co-chairperson of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 Dr Wilfred Nkhoma reiterated that all the vaccination sites across the country will remain open during the Easter holiday.
“We must continue to be vigilant, and as said by the Minister, Easter is here we have to observe it knowing the laws that have been put in place in terms of number of people remain as was declared.
“We haven’t changed restrictions on gatherings, we look forward to a happy Easter and just to remind Malawians that vaccination sites will remain open over Easter,” said Dr Nkhoma.
