The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) alongside Small Medium Enterprises Development Institute (SMEDI) will embark on regional meetings with youth entrepreneurs from 23 April to 28th May.
Speaking to YONECO FM online, NYCOM’s executive director Dingiswayo Jere said the meetings are crucial because they will tackle issues on how successful young entrepreneurs can mentor other young entrepreneurs so that they can increase job opportunities for youth in Malawi.
Jere said government is committed to ensure young people are progressing and contributing towards the development of this country.
“We will meet with young Chief Executive Officers to discuss the role they can play in supporting upcoming young entrepreneurs.
“We would also want to know how the youth council and government could support young CEO’s to boost their businesses,” he said.
Among other achievements, the meeting seeks to, create a database of young entrepreneurs for easy targeting and support by the council ,to present the council as a bridge connecting young entrepreneurs and government.
