Minister of Finance Felix Mlusu will from Tuesday, April 20 to Thursday, April 22 conduct pre-budget consultation meetings for the 2021-2022 financial year with different stakeholders
The meetings will be conducted through virtual following Covid-19 preventive measures.
Spokesperson in the Ministry of Finance, Williams Banda, has confirmed the development saying during the meetings different stakeholders are requested to submit their proposals and views on the 2021-2022 national budget.
He said stakeholders that are expected to interact with the minister include members of business community, non-governmental organizations, and the general public.
Banda said: “The stakeholders are requested to submit their proposals and views on the 2021-2022 national budget.”
He also said since the Ministry started calling for submissions the response has been overwhelming.
Banda said the ministry has so far received a lot of submissions from different stakeholders.
He has further urged all those that have not submitted their proposals to do so.
Recently an economic expert, Betchani Tchereni commended government for the initiative but he further asked the Ministry of Finance to consider casting its net wide in order to get views from many people.
