Following the opening of the tobacco market on Tuesday the maximum fetching price for tobacco on the first day of sales was pegged at 250 US Dollars per Kilogram.
YFM caught up with AHL Board Chairperson Delisile Phiri to get her reaction to the entry prices who expressed optimism that as the market progresses the prices might improve.
“The market has started well with people complying to minimum buying price and some have gone over that price,” said Phiri.
She also said that the quantity of tobacco brought to the market will also increase going forward.
