Three people have died after a vehicle lost control and hit them in their house Thursday in Chiradzulu.
The vehicle which was travelling from Limbe to Chiradzulu road heading Phalombe around 5 pm lost control at Chandimbo few metres from Chiradzulu Boma and entered a house where the three were.
In an interview on Friday, Chiradzulu Police Station Traffic Officer, Trinity Kambuzi identified the deceased as Rajab Mpira, 28, Latif Rajab, 5 and Kingsly Cholopi, 5 all from Nkupu Village, Traditional Authority (TA) Kadewere in the district.
“A vehicle registration number BX 9234 Hino Dutro belonging to Jailosi Nyanja of Maliro Village, TA Jenera in Phalombe failed to negotiation a corner as the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a nearby house where the three were.” the traffic officer added.
The Police said were waiting for motor examiners report so that they should take a next move towards prosecution.
Kambuzi appealed to the National Roads Authority officials to check the status of the road at the place of the accident saying the place is an accident spot as a lot of accidents happen at the place with loss of lives.
Eye witnesses, John Mailosi said a tailor who was working at the veranda of the house fled for his life after as the vehicle headed to his direction before smashing the house.
He added that the vehicle hit a parked motorbike leaving it in pieces before entering the house where it killed the three people.
