2022 World Cup qualifiers that were slated for June this year have been rescheduled to September this year due to covid-19, CAF has confirmed.
In a statement CAF emergency committee in consultation with FIFA said the decision has been arrived at to ensure an ideal playing condition for participating teams.
“The qualifiers will now take place in existing windows of September, October and November 2021 and March 2022,” reads part of the statement.
The Malawi National Football team was scheduled to play against Cameroon before hosting Mozambique in June.
This means that Football Association of Malawi (FAM) will have an ample time to iron out issues since there are fears that the Flames might be playing its home matches abroad as Kamuzu Stadium was deemed unfit to host matches.
