As Parliament opens on May 12 to deliberate on the 2021/2022 national purse a youth rights campaigner has outlined several things that they are anticipating from the meeting.
The campaigner Chimwemwe Kaonga said key among the issues that should be discussed is the National Youth Service which President Chakwera spoke about during a previous parliamentary meeting he attended.
“We are expecting that government will walk the talk and roll out the National Youth Service so that there is meaningful youth participation in national development,” he said.
Kawonga also reminded government that young people are also eager to hear what government has prepared on the 1 million jobs which were a campaign promise.
Further to this Kawonga, mentioned of the increased allocation to bodies which oversee issues of young people so that they can ably perform their functions.
