People’s Party (PP) President Dr Joyce Banda has called on Tonse Alliance followers to be united and work together in harmony.
The call was made during the campaign launch of PP candidate Raphael Mhone in the Nkhatabay Central Constituency by-election on June 29, 2021.
Mhone will be contesting against Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Symon Vuwa Kaunda after the High Court nullified the 2019 Parliamentary election results.
Speaking at Maganga ground, the former Malawi president said all Tonse Alliance leaders are united and are working together to develop this country.
Banda also asked the alliance followers not to create enemity between the president and his vice.
“I am among the 9 people that meet once in two months as Tonse leaders, and I have seen that leader’s are united, we are not fighting at all so our followers should live together too,” said Banda.
CFTC leader Timothy Tambo called upon people from Nkhatabay Central to refrain from violence and vote for Raphael Mhone as member of Parliament for the development of the constituency.
