A 73-year old Malison Phiri has been arrested for defiling his three biological daughters of age ranges between five to 12 years in Kawale, Lilongwe.
Confirming the development to YFM deputy spokesperson for Kawale police sergeant Mabvuto Phiri said the suspect, who was on the run until 3rd June, invited his daughters in his bed and defiled them consecutively.
“The incident happened on June 1, where the suspect was left alone with the girls and took advantage of them,” he said.
In reaction, child rights campaigner- Amos Chibwana described the development as shocking whilst urging law enforcers to expedite the case.
“Police and courts should fast-track the conviction of this case as this is wicked,” Chibwana said.
The suspect Malison Phiri hails from Malendewa village traditional authority Chiwere in Dowa.
