The Ministry of Labour has condemned the fracas which erupted at KFC premises in Lilongwe describing it as violation of labour laws.
On Friday KFC store keeper Adil Patel and B. Tchale of Omega Security Company got involved in physical alteration due to personal disagreement which interrupted business operations.
According to a statement signed by the principle secretary in the Ministry, Dickson Chunga, the ministry will not condone such deplorable behaviors at workplace and warned that all perpetrators will face the law.
“The Ministry will not condone such deplorable behavior and any unacceptable behavior or threats at work place which aim at or result into physical, psychological, sexual or economic harm,” reads part of the statement.
In addition, Chunga has appealed to all employees to desist from any form violence, attacks and criminal activities at workplace.
He has also warned in strongest terms that government will not spare anyone found to be violating labour laws in the country.
Meanwhile Patel has been granted bail after appearing before the court on Monday.
