Kasungu police have arrested a 46-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting his two step-daughters barely two weeks after a certain man in Lilongwe was arrested for defiling his three biological daughters.

Confirming the development- spokesperson for Kasungu police inspector Edna Mzingwitsa said the suspect started assaulting his 19 and 17 year old step-daughters in 2016 and 2017 respectively where the 19 year old became pregnant and had a baby boy.

According to the 19 year old survivor, the suspect approached the 19 year old survivor that there are some arrangements that he should sleep with her in order for the family to get rich.

“In order for family to allegedly get rich, the suspect approached her and defiled her,” she said.

On her part, the 17 year old said that the suspect coaxed that it is a requirement for a person to sleep with a man soon after starting menstruation failing the person dies.

Police is said to have learnt about the matter after the uncle to the survivors reported the issue this year on June 22.

The suspect who hails from Nombwa village, traditional authority Dzoole in in Dowa will be answering charges of defilement contrary to section 159 A of penal code.
