Kanema Advertising and Media company has introduced a mobile application that will allow people to watch Television programs on their smartphones using internet bundle.

Chief Executive Officer for the company Emmanuel Nangwiya said the Kanema TV Application will provide a wide coverage to the TV operators while providing a sense of convenience to users as there is no need to seat on a fixed set of TV to watch their favorite programs.

“This service is going to act as a backup plan when TV stations go offline because of terrestrial stream cutoff as the application will not be affected with such problems as it uses the internet.

“So while they may be offline on the main TV set they may be online on our Kanema App,” Nangwiya said.

He added that the application is cost effective as it will only cater for data bundle charges.

Currently, there are two Malawian TV stations that have been added on the Application and 20 international channels.

According to the C.E.O plans are underway to have all TV stations in Malawi to be available on the application by the end of this month.
