Kasungu District Hospital in conjunction with Department of national disasters and HoHo Action Plus organization have embarked on awareness campaign in order to sensitize communities on the importance of complying with Covid-19 preventative measures.

Speaking in an interview, District Health Promotions Officer Isaac Mwafulira said the sensitization campaign has started in Kasungu east in areas of Mtunthama, Chimwabvi and Chilowamatambe.

Speaking at one of the spots, Mwafulira urged community members to continue following Covid-19 preventive measures as the country is experiencing the third wave.

HoHo Action Plus projects officer Paul Sitima said the organization thought it wise to join the initiative after observing revamp of covid 19 cases in the district.

So far, Kasungu east which is under Traditional Authority Wimbe, is one of the areas registering a high number of Covid-19 cases, while 35 people have died due to the pandemic in the district.
