The Ministry of Education says it has finalised an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse at Kalibu Academy in Blantyre, about a month after it launched the probe.
There were reports that a male teacher allegedly attempted to sexually assault a female student at the academy in July.
The ministry’s spokesperson Chikondi Chimala said the ministry has since taken the findings to the Malawi Human Rights Commission(MHRC).
“We have done our part and have taken the findings to MHRC since they are also investigating the matter,” he said.
Chimala however failed to give timeline as to when the report will be released to the public.
“I can only assure you that the ministry is committed to address the matter with much needed attention,” he added.
He thus commended various witnesses for cooperating during the probe.
