The National Anti-Corruption Alliance NACA says that it has intentions to follow up with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Judiciary on the progress of various corruption cases in the country.
NACA Chairperson Moses Mkandawire said this in an interview with YFM in which he also disclosed that the pace at which these cases are being handled is worrisome.
Mkandawire said: “It is worrisome that corruption has been institutionalized in the country and everybody seems not to care on how we can curb this vice.”
Mkandawire re-echoed that the current trend of not finalizing corruption cases is continuing and this is leading to more problems.
He has since said they will engage the ACB and the Judiciary to find out the progress of various cases and the establishment of a court that will handle such cases.
“The next step is to engage our colleagues in the ACB and see where they are with the investigations as well as the prosecution of the same.
“Secondly you will recall that we have been talking about the creation of a special court by our colleagues at the judiciary we just want to follow up and see where we are and this is through the office of the chief justice,” said Mkandawire.
