Nyasa Big Bullets assistant coach, Peter Mponda, has expressed worry following the team’s failure to register a win in their two opening matches at the Cecafa Kagame Cup which is underway in Tanzania.
On Wednesday, Bullets was held in a one-all draw Group A contest against Ugandan Express FC at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam.
Bullets came from behind through Chiukepo Msowoya’s 65th minute equalized.
This was the second draw game by the people’s team following another 1-1 opening match against Tanzanian Premier League giants, Young Africans (Yanga), on Monday at the same venue.
In his remarks after Wednesday’s encounter, Mponda said he is worried that his boys are conceding goals in the early minutes of the game a development which puts them under pressure of coming from behind to level the score line.
Mponda said: “I can say that I am disappointed because this is not a result we wanted and my worry is that we are conceding easy goals in the early minutes of the game hence pressuring ourselves to seek an equalizer and at the same time fighting for a winning goal.”
However Mponda has expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of his boys saying he is confident that they will proceed to another level.
Bullets, which is currently on second position in Group A, will face the bottom placed Atlabara from South Sudan in their next match on Saturday.
The group is being led by Express FC while Yanga is on third position.
