Weather authorities say most parts of the country are this week expected to experience warm to hot and mostly sunny weather condition.
According to a statement which the Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services has issued, the daily sunshine is continuing increasing each passing day, as the position of the sun continues to move upwards.
However, in an interview, Director in the Department, Jolamu Nkhokwe, said there will be an invasion of cool, windy and cloudy weather conditions to be experienced in some parts of the country.
He said: “As from Sunday 8th August to Friday 13th August 2021, most areas in the south, center and north of the country are expected to continue experiencing warm to hot and mostly sunny and hazy weather conditions.
“However, an invasion of cool, windy and cloudy weather conditions accompanied by Mwera winds over the lake bodies in the country are expected from Tuesday 10th August to Wednesday 11th August 2021.”
Nkhokwe added that night-time and morning hours are expected to be mostly cold with occasional occurrence of fog.
This, he said, is due to the influence of a high-pressure system as it suppresses cloud development over the country.
The Department has also cautioned those plying over Lake Malawi and associated lakes to continue exercising utmost extra caution to avoid loss of life and property due to rough waters cause by the invasion of Mwera winds.
