The Ministry of Health has said it is ready to start issuing official covid-19 vaccine certificates to individuals who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

According to a statement signed by Secretary for Health, Charles Mwansambo, the certificates will be issued as a digital copy which can be saved or printed into a hard copy and can be presented to authorities if there is need for proof of full vaccination.

The statement further says, the certificates will be generated through covid-19 electronic vaccine (e-vaccine) registry which has a system containing records of all people who received the jab.

It adds that the said records will be assigned a unique identifier called EIP number which will be sent through an SMS from the ministry of health to the eligible people.

These EIP numbers will be used to generate the certificates.
