The Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 has loosen some of the measures of preventing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic as a result of the country being registering less number of new cases, admissions and deaths.
Addressing a press briefing in Blantyre today, Minister of Health, who is also chairperson of the task force, Khumbidze Kandodo Chiponda, said indoor gatherings have been increased from 50 to 100 people, while outdoors is 250 from 100 people.
Minibus capacity has also been increased from 50% to 75%.
Politicians have been given a go ahead to hold rallies but with a capacity of 250 people.
However, the minister has expressed concern with the continued low numbers of people who are receiving Covid-19 vaccine saying the situation in southern region is worse.
