The Malawi National Football team has moved three steps upward on the latest World Fifa Rankings released on Thursday, September 16.
Flames is now on position 115 from 118.
The rankings, which is being led by Belgium, is based from the month of August.
Currently the Flames, which recently beat Mozambique 1-0 after also losing to Cameroon 2-0 in the 2022 World Cup qualifying bid, is on position 29 in Africa.
Meanwhile, Flames is expected to host Ivory Coast in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on October 6 before the two teams meet in the return match four days later in the West African country.
Flames is in group D of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers alongside Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Mozambique.
