Mulanje district has recorded its sixth suicide case this year.
Speaking to YONECO FM online Gresham Ngwira who is the publicist for Mulanje police said, the recent case involves 18 year old Raymond Misomali who committed suicide for reasons yet to be established.
But reports are indicating that Misomali looked unhappy for a week but did not confide in his relatives as regards what was bothering him.
Ngwira said the deceased was found lying dead in his bedroom on October 6 and post-mortem done at Muloza Health Centre singled out suffocation as cause of death.
“We wish to advise people to seek help when they are depressed than resort to ending their life,” he said.
National police records on suicide indicate that 87 people committed suicide from January to June and the cases were high among men.
