A plea has gone out to government to walk the talk on the promises and strategies to this year’s Affordable Input Program (AIP).
The plea comes following the launching of this year’s Affordable Input Program president Lazarus Chakwera on Saturday.
Speaking to YONECOFM Online, Frighton Njolomole, president for Famers Union of Malawi said they have hope that government will fulfill the promises that they have assured with to the country’s famers which will help to reduce challenges that the program faced last year.
“We are anticipating government to sort out all the problems that famers experienced in the last year’s AIP program,” said Njolomole.
He also applauded president Lazarus Chakwera for launching AIP early as compared to last year, saying this will help them buy the farm inputs in time.
“We hope that the AIP program will go out smoothly as it has been launched early which guarantees the possibility of addressing the challenges in time as well whenever famers come across a challenge,” said Njolomole.
He also appealed to all suppliers of the affordable inputs to do their work with caution.
Njolomole also called on law enforcers to arrest all culprits that may cause interruptions to the program.
