The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has announced that ballot papers for the 26 October by elections will arrive on 22 October through Kamuzu International Airport.
Director of Media and Public Relations at MEC, Sangwani Mwafulirwa has told YONECO FM online that the ballot papers will be dispatched to district councils on the same day.
Mwafulirwa has asked all political parties and representatives of independent candidates to arrive at the venue in time so as to get clearance from security agencies and witness the entire process.
“We are further advising people that we have no control over changes in flight schedules so in some case where there are changes which have not been communicated to the commission ,we are advising all representatives to be on the lookout for this,” he said.
The by elections will be held in Nkhotakota North East,Dedza Central East and Mzimba East constituencies as well as Chiwalire Ward in Balaka South East constituency.
