Teachers Union of Malawi (TUM) says it is expecting that the next sitting of Parliament will provide answers as to when Initial Teacher Primary Education (IPTE) 13 and 14 teachers will be fully employed by government.
The fourth meeting of the National Assembly in the 49th session will be held from November 7 to December 3 this year.
Speaking to YONECO FM Online, TUM Secretary General Charles Kumchenga said they are hoping that teachers who completed their education and are currently working as auxiliaries or are staying home will be considered on full time basis.
“We already discussed the matter of IPTE 13 and 14 recruitment with the Ministry of Education and we are very sure that the parliamentarians will approve as to when will government recruit these teachers and how many of them are to be recruited,” said Kumchenga.
