Mulanje police on Tuesday embarked on trainings for community policing forums in order build their capacity on information sharing.
According to spokesperson for Mulanje Police Gresham Ngwira, the initiative will assist in the smooth flow of information in order to enhance security in the district.
“When we talk about security we cannot rule out the issue of information so we believe that after this exercise things will change for the better because, as community policing structures they will be able to properly handle information and share it to authorities for proper action,” said Ngwira.
He also hailed community policing forums for their work in bringing sanity in the areas thereby complementing efforts by police.
Among other things, the community policing forums help in the prevention of mob justice in the areas.
