Accountant General Jean Munyenyembe has admitted that the new Integrated Financial Management and Information System (IFMIS) is facing implementation challenges due to limited capacity by system end users.
Munyenyembe said this on Wednesday when she appeared before the Budget and Finance Committee of Parliament to explain the challenges leading to late payment of salaries for civil servants and payments for public services.
She told the committee that the implementation of IFMIS has been facing obstacles because some end users are yet to be trained on how to operate the new system.
She however said the situation is improving following the training of 980 end users out of 1200 that should be trained.
