Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has written the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General demanding further clarification on findings of an investigation into alleged corrupt transactions between State House and Crossroads Hotel.
On Tuesday, ACB cleared the State House of wrongdoing on allegations that it accommodated foreign guests at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe at an inflated rate.
The graft busting body also reported that allegations that business man Miguel Elias paid Crossroads Hotel money amounting to K12.5 million using funds drawn from State House account are unfounded.
But CDEDI Executive Director, Sylvester Namiwa, has questioned the credibility and integrity of the investigation saying it has failed to clarify how two different payments were made to the hotel.
ACB is yet to comment on the matter.
