Malawians will now enjoy 24 hours power supply as the Electricity Generation Company (Egenco) has completed repair works at Kapichira Power Station.

In a statement EGENCO stated that it finalized the replacement of worn out wipe ropes for operation of spillway gates for the power station  on January 17, 2022.

The exercise was carried out during the weekends of 8th to 9th January and 15th to 17th January 2022.

In the process, Kapichira Power Station’s generation capacity of 129.6MW was unavailable to the national grid.
