Police in Mulanje has advised men to seek help whenever they are faced with problems.
Mulanje police spokesperson Gresham Ngwira made the remarks when it recorded its second suicide case for 2022.
The case involves a 49 year old man Cydrick Stand who is alleged to have committed suicide over marital disputes.
Brother to the deceased Rex Stand told police that on Sunday 6 February 2022 the deceased visited his second wife where they quarreled over unknown issues.
He further stated that when Stand returned home he hang himself using a rope made from a mosquito net.
Postmortem has shown that death was caused by suffocation.
“This is very sad, our records indicate that the prevalence of suicide among men is higher, we wish to advise people to seek support from community leaders, police and other stakeholders if they are faced with problems,” Ngwira said.
