World Connect says it will soon provide training to communities to have their own woodlots as one way of conserving the environment.
The organisation is currently planting trees in different locations within Zomba district including the 2000 trees that it already planted along Likangala river in Zomba district.
Speaking to YONECO FM online established field partner for world connect Vincent Phiri said most trees that are planted in the country shows to fail to sustain because of reluctant to protect them hence the organization plans to train people on protecting new planted trees.
“Most people fail to take care on the trees that they have planted which shows a worst of money and resources and this is the reason that has prompted us to train communities on protecting the newly planted trees,” said Phiri.
Phiri added that training communities to have their own woodlots can help restore the environment.
On his part Traditional Authority Naphamba said he will safeguard that the newly planted trees are taken care of to ensure their sustainability.
