Land rights lobby group Peoples Land Organisation (PLO) says it will strategise the way forward on the declaration of independence of the African Traditionalist Monarchy of the United States of Thyolo and Mulanje (MUST).
According to PLO Leader Vincent Wandale, a seven day ultimatum which the Organisation issued to President Lazarus Chakwera has elapsed without any response from him.
Wandale added that Chakwera’s silence on the matter is a signal that the head of State has accepted their declaration of independence.
He said: “As now, we have not received any feedback from the President or the National Assembly or anyone who was listed on the copies and we are still hoping that we can get something.
But as of now, based on the ultimatum, it means that these people have accepted the contents of the ultimatum and they are ready to live by the contents of this ultimatum.”
The PLO Leader has since resolved that the Organisation meet and discuss how it will proceed on the matter.
“From our part, we are going to have a meeting firstly as an Organisation to see how we proceed now following that we have received positive response from the people.
“Whereby nobody has opposed our decision that we are living in this country which is calling it Kingdom of Myland as well as this Worldwide Holy Mbamirian Empire.
But when contacted for a response, Presidential Press Secretary Anthony Kasunda said he has no comment on the matter.
The seven-paged letter was written on 16th February 2022 and copied government institutions like the national assembly, judiciary and diplomatic community.
