Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 33-year old man for allegedly defiling his 11 year old step daughter for a period of three years.

Lilongwe police PRO Inspector Hasting Chigalu, said the suspect, allegedly started sexually victimizing the girl in 2019 when she was eight years old and used to threaten her that she would kill her if she revealed the ordeal to anyone.

Chigalu said the child however revealed the matter to her grandmother who reported to police.

Medical examination by Kamuzu Central Hospital confirmed multiple penetration.

The suspect is currently on remand at Maula prison waiting to appear before court to answer defilement charges.
