The United Nations (UN) has encouraged President Lazarus Chakwera to attend or send a delegation to this year’s High Level Meeting on Global Road Safety.
The meeting to be held in New York, United States of America, from June 30 to July 1.
In a statement, the UN has also encouraged President Chakwera to adopt a Global Action Plan Agenda 2030 which strives to reduce road accidents by 50%.
“It should also include a statement that Malawi will adopt and implement the 30KM/H speed limit in all schools and busy areas,” the statement reads.
The UN has also encouraged President Chakwera to declare that Malawi will increase road safety funding to ensure improved safer road environment capable of reducing accidents.
