In week 6 of tobacco sales the accumulative revenue generated was just over K9 billion and this was raised after 5.7 million kilograms of tobacco had been sold.
According to AHL Tobacco Sales Ltd commentary of the week, the auction burley market registered the highest selling price at 2 dollars 60 cents meanwhile on the contract market the highest price recorded was 3 dollars which is significantly higher than the same period last year.
It is still worthy to note that the no-sale rejection rate for this year’s market is consistently declining.
